Affordability/Costs/Inflation

Trump promised to lower costs on Day One, but once elected, he made costs rise even more. Trump's erratic across-the-board tariffs, even on things America doesn’t produce, pointlessly raise prices and kill jobs. After Trump’s tariffs were struck down by the Supreme Court in Feb. 2026, Trump did nothing to help consumers get their share of the massive tariff refunds to importers. Trump later enacted questionable new tariffs, again often erratically applied to favor friends. Trump’s impulse to jump into a “quick & easy” war on Iran with Israel (but NO other allies) is soaring costs for oil & fertilizer. Gifted $200 million tax-free by his dad and bailed out of 6 bankruptcies, Trump is SO out-of-touch with OUR financial struggles, that he calls “affordability” a “Democratic Hoax” and insists the economy is GREAT because the stock market is at record highs.

Artificial Intelligence (A.I.)

To make America the world leader in A.I., Trump gives his billionaire tech buddies free rein to rush full speed ahead, unfettered by reasonable regulations or advance planning for huge job losses. Hiring has been frozen across many industries, as firms anticipate A.I. enabling them to slash jobs and boost profits; some have even announced massive A.I. layoffs. No entry jobs for the young? Billionaire Tech Barons don't care; A.I. saves them billions in slashed payrolls. Worse, ever-expanding, noisy data centers pollute our neighborhoods, lower our property values, and hog energy & water without paying their fair share for essential resources.

Corruption

Trump promised to "drain the swamp" in Washington. Instead, Trump rapidly expanded the swamp and monopolized it to enrich himself, his family, and his billionaire pay-to-play buddies. Trump abuses his awesome Presidential powers — over the military, tariffs, regulations, mergers, disaster/recovery aid, federal funding, immigration, and more — to shake down firms and foreign leaders to "pay to play," to fund his pet projects (Trump reportedly micro-monitors each firm’s “donations”), to invest in Trump's crypto currency, to award Trump family lucrative development & resource deals, even to twist Qatar’s arms for a luxury 747 for personal use. Against pleas by U.S. security experts, Trump sold America's most advanced A.I. chips to the UAE after its sheik invested $2 billion in Trump's cryptocurrency firm. Trump pocketed $635 million in profits scamming a million of his most adoring supporters, who lost $3.8 BILLION buying Trump’s meme coin. Trump charges clients $100,000/month for advance notice of his often market-moving Truth Social postings, literally promoting Insider Trading. Gifted a gaudy, gold 321-diamond Presidential Ring by Belgian diamond cutters, Trump extended their 0% tariff rate another year. Trump forced DOJ to file a phony lawsuit against the IRS just to make possible a fake settlement that bars IRS audits of Trump family/firm tax cheating. Trump eschews normal DOJ advice on appropriate pardons to simply “sell” his pardons to big donors and vocal fans. Former Trump-super-loyalist Majorie Taylor Green now notes, “Trump abandoned his working-class base in favor of elite, billionaire buddies.”

[Caveat: A conflict of interest becomes corruption when a politician puts personal profit OVER the public or national interest. The FBI determined that “Hunter Biden and his dad taking bribes from Ukraine” was a Russian disinformation campaign. In fact, VP Joe Biden faithfully implemented official US policy, as decided by President Obama, in concert with US allies, to crack down on corruption in Ukraine. Nancy Pelosi didn't trade stocks; her venture capitalist husband did. But that didn't keep Pelosi from fighting fiercely for a "public option" in Obamacare, even though its inclusion would reduce the value of health insurance stocks in her husband's portfolio.]

Crime

Trump claims to be America's top crime fighter, but Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) defunds our police by billions. Worse, $50,000 ICE signing bonuses hollow-out local police forces, weakening the real fight against violent crime. Occupying cities with ICE or the military, neither trained nor authorized to police, looks strong but is actually wasteful & ineffective, kills innocent people, abuses our military as personal political pawns, and robs funds & officers from real policing. Trump’s abusing the National Guard to police DC will cost $1.4 billion over his 2nd term, $600/day/guard, TWICE the cost of a real policeman who is far more effective in fighting crime. (But normalizing use of the military to “police” cities gives Trump direct control, especially useful next time he invites his supporters to attack the Capitol, like they did on Jan. 6, 2021). Republicans exploit voter fears of surging violent crime (when it is actually being reduced) while gutting enforcement of trillion-dollar tax evasion by the super-rich, 60 times MORE "theft" than all other reported theft combined! Tragically, Trump reneged on his bump stock ban, effectively putting machine guns on our streets and in our schools.

Data Centers

Virginia is the Global "Ground Zero" for data centers, once seen as "guaranteed prosperity." But Trump's race to beat China on A.I., with NO regulations, guardrails, environmental protections or planning, Trump's hate of renewable energy, and Trump's corrupt bargain with fossil fuel super donors DESTROYS our communities, health, economy and environment.

VA's waiver of "sales & use tax" for data centers lost VA $1.9 billion in 2025, creating only 1,610 jobs at a cost of $1.2 million/job. Massive new fossil fuel energy use drastically increases our utility bills. Extensive new transmission lines threaten forests, almost doubling forest fires in the last 2 years. Extensive back-up generators spew out fossil-fuel pollution we breathe, increasing disease & extreme weather events. Using water to cool (instead of "closed loop" cooling) hogs precious water resources and puts toxic waste into our aquifers, damaging our health & environment and restricting water needed by homes & farms. The loud, 24/7 "data-center drone" disrupts ecosystems and makes our neighborhoods unlivable. Unfortunately, a moratorium on new data centers using improved technology leaves Virginia with the oldest, most inefficient, wasteful, polluting concentration of data centers. Instead, we need to make tax breaks dependent on data centers using renewable energy and the best technology to cut pollution & waste, plus paying their full, fair share of ALL costs, including here-to-for often hidden & ignored long-term costs eventually dumped on us tax payers. Governor Spanberger calls for: “Virginia to show what it looks like to be a national leader on making sure data centers pay their fair share for the energy they use, listen to the needs of local communities, and adhere to stricter environmental, water, and noise pollution standards." Drugs

Trump claims 25,000 American lives are saved each time he bombs a boat allegedly carrying drugs, but that would equal 750,000 lives, 10 times the roughly 75,000 U.S drug deaths/year. Fentanyl causes about 70% of our drug deaths, but 96-99% of Fentanyl is smuggled in from Mexico; not the Caribbean. Why not capture traffickers, seize the drugs, and trace up to the drug kingpins? If Trump were serious about stopping drug smuggling to the U.S., why did he pardon jailed former Honduras President Hernandez, justly convicted of facilitating trafficking of over 400 tons of cocaine through Honduras to the U.S. in exchange for millions in drug cartel bribes? Turns out Venezuela wasn't really about drugs or even restoring democracy; it's about controlling Venezuela's oil on behalf of Trump and his oil cronies. Trump personally controls oil sales, managing funds through a bank in Qatar.

Education

Trump promised to give control over public schools to localities by abolishing DOE, but localities never LOST local control. DOE offers desperately needed funding to schools that can’t cover mandated costs by property taxes alone. Trump’s BBB (Big Bad Betrayal) guts public school funding to pay huge tax credits for upper middle class to send their kids to elite charter schools, not even an option in most rural areas. Trump’s unscientific anti-vaccine zeal is endangering our kids by making schools hotbeds for spreading preventable disease.

Election Integrity

Trump creates fake crises to justify outrageous overreach, like passing the SAVE AMERICA ACT, which he promises will keep Republicans in power for the next 100 years. Claims like Millions of non-citizens vote illegally. Millions? Why would ANY non-citizen risk fines, prison, even deportation, just to cast a single ballot? Heritage Foundation, author of MAGA's Project 2025, conducted an exhaustive 2024 study, finding only 77 cases of non-citizens voting between 1999-2023 nationally — about 3/year, almost all green-card holders mistakenly told they could vote. What about Trump's Millions of 'stolen' mail-in ballots are counted? Is Trump ignorant that each registered voter is allowed only ONE vote, uniquely identified by name, address, DOB & often Social Security #? Why would anyone risk fines & jail to impersonate another voter when that "crime" is detected the minute that voter tries to vote and is barred from "voting a 2nd time”? Millions would protest, but they don't because it is SO vanishingly rare. (That's why Republicans' "Never ending pasta pass" to justify mandatory photo ID's to vote is a Red Herring since the crime of voting another’s ballot is detected when the “victim” tries to vote.) In Fulton County GA, the FBI unilaterally seized 2020 ballots, breaking the inviolable "chain of custody" that prevents cheating by assuring each stage of vote counting is monitored by reps from both parties. Does Trump NOT know that unilaterally seizing ballots “breaks that inviolable chain of custody," preventing any credible count or audit of those ballots?

Proving citizenship to register to vote sounds reasonable, but it's nearly impossible for many voters: 146 million lack a passport, 62 million women have different married names than on their birth certificates, and many have no access to original birth certificates, often in different, even distant jurisdictions. Ending DMV and online voter registration to instead require IN-PERSON registration with original birth certificate or passport at limited, often distant locations will effectively prevent millions of legitimate voters from registering, especially rural voters who must often travel long distances to register. Denying Millions the Right to Vote to protect against virtually non-existent, non-citizen voting!

Energy

Trump promised cheaper energy, but Trump and his BBB (Big, Bad Betrayal) are KILLING solar & wind (renewables), the cheapest, fastest, cleanest way to boost energy supply quickly, especially with skyrocketing AI power demand. Trump is wasting billions of tax payer money to shut down even largely completed wind & solar projects in favor of dirty coal/fossil fuels, not just killing 10,000's of good-paying jobs but soaring our energy prices. Trump bungled into a war with Iran to quickly topple the government; instead he inadvertently solidified Iran's control of the Strait of Hormuz to stop shipments, soaring gas, diesel, jet fuel and fertilizer costs globally, potentially plunging the world into recession, even famine! Elon Musk criticized Trump's BBB for hurting US competitiveness. “It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future,” ceding our economic & energy future to China.

Environmental Disasters

Trump's denial of Global Warming/Extreme Weather, firing scientists and gutting data & resources needed to monitor and mitigate extreme weather, will recklessly cost us lives and billions if not trillions of dollars. Trump fired experienced wildfire fighters despite record drought and a Super El Nino! Trump diverted funds badly needed for long-neglected environmental maintenance in our National Parks to his vanity projects in DC! Trump even “stole” FEMA funds to help an already badly bloated ICE build cruel, unnecessary, for-profit detention centers that enrich Trump's billionaire buddies. Eviscerating FEMA leaves us helpless after catastrophes, denying states FEMA's unparalleled disaster-management expertise, leaving Trump alone to dictate who gets aid, based on his personal whims, retribution and political preferences, NOT the severity of the disaster and the legitimate needs of helpless victims.

Epstein Files

Trump campaigned for years as the warrior fighting against elite pedophile cabals, for which he blamed Democrats. AG Bondi told Fox in Feb. 2025 that the Epstein client files were "on her desk." Yet, once Trump's own DOJ discovered that the files show Trump is the most heavily featured as close buddy, serial philanderer, and confidant of Jeffrey Epstein, Trump's team panicked and engineered a cover up. AG Bondi became slow, selective & sloppy in what she released, which she now blames on her Deputy, Todd Blanche, Trump's personal attorney, now heading DOJ. Oblivious to the pain & suffering of the abused girls, Trump seems more concerned for fellow men becoming "unfair victims" by association, NOT the true victims, young girls, whose names DOJ recklessly, repeatedly released. Trump even retaliated against Republicans who voted to require release of all Epstein files. The DOJ almost certainly withheld and hid files it's legally required to release under the bipartisan Epstein Files Transparency Act. Who is Trump protecting (besides himself)?

Farming

Trump boasts that rural America is Trump Country, that farmers LOVE him. But Trump BET American family farms on China NOT retaliating against Trump's punishing 100% tariffs and on farmers NOT minding losing billion dollars more in markets after Trump gutted Food for Peace (USAID) and SNAP. Yet, Trump helped his Argentina autocrat buddy with $40 billion (half in cash and half in guarantees) to help Argentina export soybeans to China and beef to the U.S., hurting OUR farmers & ranchers to "Make Argentina Great Again." Trump's emergency $12 billion aid to farmers is only a fraction of the $44 billion farmers lost in 2025, alone, losses worsened in 2026 by skyrocketing fertilizer & diesel costs, thanks to Trump’s impulsive decision to start a “war of choice” on Iran. Adding insult to injury, Trump’s mass deportations and ICE's terrifying tactics lose us the hardworking undocumented taxpayers essential to keeping family farms operating.

Financial Protection

Trump's call to cap credit card interest rates at 10% is empty talk, because Republicans in Congress and their banking industry donors oppose it. Trump and DOGE KILLED the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB), the "cop on the beat" protecting average consumers from "Big Finance" preying on them. Since 2011, the CFPB returned over $21 billion to consumers through refunds, debt cancellation and principal reductions, curbing excessive overdraft & credit card late fees, "junk fees," deceptive marketing & data broker practices, and simply enforcing often previously ignored federal consumer financial laws. Seniors & veterans lose over $3 billion/year to cryptocurrency scams that steal their life savings, but Trump sides with fellow crypto-currency billionaires over vulnerable senior citizen & veteran victims of these scams!

Foreign Policy & Global Influence

Trump's America First promised to put our wellbeing first. But Trump's anachronistic 18th century might-makes-right power politics, dividing the world into spheres of influence, is really, America Last! Trump TRASHES Reagan's "Shining City on a Hill," the "arsenal of democracy" that won two World Wars & the Cold War, leading the free world to defeat fascism, totalitarianism & communism. Instead, Trump seems to prefer ruling like a Tsar over the Americas, letting Putin "rule" Europe and letting China "rule" Asia/Australia (leaving Africa for Russia & China to carve up?). Trump foolishly weakens NATO, led by America for 80 years, an alliance Russia & China would DIE to duplicate (neither has treaty allies)). Trump seems to prefer being a "Tin Pot Dictator," ruling only over Latin America/Canada/Greenland (while leaving Russia & China to decide the future of the WHOLE planet). Trump only covets Greenland (whose people oppose joining the U.S.), so he can boast of adding more land to the U.S. than the Louisiana Purchase. (Does Trump NOT know that by a 1951 treaty, America can reopen 16 bases it closed in Greenland. Working with NATO (7 of the 8 nations in the Arctic Circle are NATO) Trump could choke off Russian access to global shipping via the Baltic & Black Seas (Turkey), leaving Russia only icy Siberian ports.) The stupidity of Trump killing independent, multilingual "Voice of America" (for refusal to report Trump lies as “news”) was glaringly obvious when we had no way to reach protesting Iranians in Farsi, as they were butchered in the streets by their brutal, repressive government. Trump weakens our alliances with democracies while inexplicably helping autocratic adversaries who seek to bury us, devastating America's reputation, our global influence, power & strength.

Healthcare

Trump promised not to touch Medicare or Medicaid. But Republican insistence that BBB (Trump's Big Bad Betrayal bill), can cut waste with a work requirement, is a CON: Arkansas already repealed its own work requirement as counterproductive, onerous “red tape” that kicks off many rightful recipients but cuts little real waste. Deep BBB cuts to Medicaid ($1 trillion over 10 years) & Obamacare shift costs to the rest of us, boosting our premiums and shutting hospitals/clinics, especially rural ones. By delaying CUTS to after midterms, Republicans hope voters won’t notice the CON until after we vote! But millions already lost healthcare in 2026, after Republicans’ BBB slashed enhanced subsidies passed under Biden to keep health insurance affordable. Trump's offering $1-2,000 to every tax payer to buy their own health care (instead of subsidizing premiums) underscores how out-of-touch Trump is on health insurance: $1-2,000 doesn't come close to a major medical expense, leaving many bankrupt. Slashing BioMed R&D surrenders to cancer just as mRNA research promises cancer breakthroughs.

Unscientific anti-vaccine ideology leaves us defenseless next pandemic and resurrects previously conquered diseases. For over 40 years, giving toddlers the critical vaccinations in a single session proved highly safe & effective, maximizing vaccination rates and reducing, even eliminating, the childhood diseases. Tragically, Trump’s anti-science decision to scrap that simple one-and-done vaccination in favor of several visits will significantly reduce vaccination rates, making schools hotbeds for spreading preventable disease. Millions of schoolkids will get sick, even die, from already conquered diseases, ALL PREVENTABLE.

Housing

Trump promised to drastically reduce the cost of housing, but also claimed, "I want to drive housing costs up," to benefit current homeowners. Trump's proposed 50-year mortgage doesn't help, only reducing monthly payments about $200/month but adding about $500,000 in interest costs, 4-5 times the monthly savings. Trump's tariffs significantly increase the cost of building materials, and ICE's terrifying tactics deplete the workforce, both surging housing costs. Frankly, Trump is far more focused on building his vanity projects — his Billion Dollar Ballroom, gold-plating his White House, his monstruous Victory Arch to glorify himself, rebuilding Dulles Airport, plus spending tens of billions of dollars to build cruel, unnecessary, for-profit detention centers that enrich Trump's billionaire buddies — than on building affordable housing for average Americans. Born super rich, Trump is SO out-of-touch with average citizens, he called a landmark, bipartisan housing bill, to make housing more affordable for struggling Americans, "a big yawn," refusing to sign it.

Immigration

Trump said he would target violent criminals, but ICE detains & deports mostly hard-working, law-abiding but undocumented tax payers, devastating millions of farms and businesses dependent on their labor. ICE ignores due process, detaining & deporting legal residents, naturalized citizens, even birthright citizens of immigrant parents, against whom Trump is doubling down on after the 2026 Supreme Court decision on Birthright Citizenship. Masked ICE agents even shoot non-violent immigrants and peacefully-protesting citizens DEAD! ICE raids are establishing the norm of the military/ICE patrolling cities, so Trump can deploy at will to control future election results. A humongous $175 billion ICE budget steals funds from REAL law enforcement. ICE is also spending billions building cruel, unneeded detention centers, managed for profit by Trump's corrupt cronies, instead of affordable housing. Trump has made visiting/studying in America so onerous (including vetting years of visitors' social media), that America is losing over $40 billion/year in economic business from foreign visits.

Intelligence & Fighting Wars

Trump's abuse of Intelligence, to take revenge on perceived personal enemies rather than to secure the most accurate intelligence to make the best possible decisions, leaves Trump blind to reality and prone to costly, disastrous decisions, like the ill-considered, not-thought-thru Iran War. Blind to reality makes Trump an easy mark for Putin's or Netanyahu's distortions, bamboozling America into siding against our NATO allies in Ukraine or impulsively joining Israel in a spur-of-the-moment war to topple Iran’s regime. Unplanned & unprepared, the Iran War sacrificed under-defended US soldiers and, in just a few weeks, dangerously depleted our stockpiles of multi-million dollar interceptor missiles to unsustainably shoot down $1000 drones (irresponsibly, Trump had arrogantly rebuffed offers from Ukraine, the world expert at cost-effectively defending against cheap Iranian drones, to share Ukraine’s superior, sustainable drone-defense technology).

Iran is NOW in a far stronger strategic position, able to choke off the Strait of Hormuz and the world's oil & fertilizer supply. Yet, we have NO effective constraints on Iran’s nuclear development ever since Trump rashly trashed Obama's effective JCPOA Agreement, signed by all permanent members of the UN Security Council, including Russia & China, and rigorously monitored on-site by the IAEA. For virtually NO clear concession from Iran,Trump now offers Iran access to $300 billion in reserves, despite having excoriated Obama for unfreezing $1.7 billion of Iranian assets and flying it to Iran in cash, as part of a JCPOA deal that effectively constrained Iranian nuclear weapon development for at least 20 years. Did Trump read his own “The Art of the Deal?”

Reproductive Rights

Trump claims he leaves the issue of abortion access to the states. Virginia is the only southern state where abortion remains legal; enshrining Reproductive Rights in Virginia’s Constitution will be on the ballot this Nov. 3 [see VoteYES.us]. Even many 'pro-life' supporters DON’T want women denied life-saving medical care due to fears of litigation, seeing it as a matter for women and their doctors to decide. After the midterms, it is highly likely Trump’s DOJ will try to renege approval of mail-order mifepristone, the only access women in many states have to abortion care, possibly by invoking the antiquated but still on the books Comstock Act.

Science/Technology

Trump claims he wants to make America FIRST, but in Science & Technology, the foundation of America's economic power, Trump is making America LAST. DOGE chainsaw-slashing of America's university-based R&D colossus, the envy-of-the-world, is wastefully and stupidly destroying the foundation of America's scientific edge and long-term economic prosperity. Instead of attracting the best & the brightest from all over the world, our best and brightest scientists are now looking to relocate to other countries, where REAL science and R&D are respected and supported. Crippling cuts to our weather service and dismantling our cutting-edge monitoring of climate change will cost lives and billions, even trillions of dollars , by neutering our weather-prediction and climate-mitigation capabilities. Gutting FEMA makes it even harder for states to cope with increasingly frequent and catastrophic natural disasters. Adversaries China & Russia are overjoyed as Trump dismantles a foundation of America's technical superiority and long-term economic prosperity.

Security/Safety

Trump said he’d end the war in Ukraine on Day One, but is easily duped by a Putin obsessed with recreating the Soviet Empire. Trump's obsession with personal revenge guts DOJ, FBI, CIA, IRS… the whole USG… of the experienced veterans essential to fight terrorism, cyberattacks and other financial crimes & tax evasion, leaving us defenseless against catastrophic terrorist & cyberattacks, not to mention gutting America’s tax revenues. Russia & China are busy honing cyber techniques to take down our energy grid or water supply, which, if successfully executed, could wipe out millions of Americans. Trump’s obscene, preposterous bully-like blaming of MN Gov. Walz for recent cyber-attacks on US water infrastructure (almost certainly by Iran) underscores the peril to us of a president SO self-absorbed & obsessed with personal revenge that he’s AWOL on protecting “We the People” from terrorists & foreign enemies. Trump's vain belief that his ability to charm Putin & Xi "trumps" their pursuit of their own national interests led to Trump's reckless gutting of our cyber defense, inviting cyber-catastrophe! Violating decades of vigilant USG protections of our Personal Identifiable Information (PII), DOGE interns recklessly released American Social Security files online, reportedly even selling some to private concerns, facilitating online financial scams and identity theft against us ALL!

Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid

Campaigning, Trump defied Republican orthodoxy and promised NOT to cut Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid. But after recklessly bungling into a hot war with Iran costing $40 billion in the first few months and many tens of billions more to replace depleted stockpiles of missiles & munitions, Trump now insists the Federal Government can NO longer afford to fund the Medicare/Medicaid social safety net and would have to leave that to the states. Trump's BBB (Big Bad Betrayal Bill) CUTS a trillion dollars from Medicaid over 10 years (timed to start after the midterm elections so voters won’t notice). Tens of millions will lose their healthcare, on top of millions who already lost healthcare in 2026, after BBB ended Biden-era enhanced premium subsidies. BBB's NO tax on Social Security? Sounds great but it's only temporary, expiring in 2028 (tax breaks for billionaires are permanent). In truth, it doesn’t really end tax on Social Security; it merely lets a senior, 65 or older, deduct $6,000 from his or her income before paying tax. In fact, few who depend almost entirely on Social Security pay any income tax on it now.

Tariffs/Trade/Jobs

Trump promised a flood of new jobs & tax revenue, but ill-considered blanket tariffs on ALL countries raise ALL prices while losing far more jobs than gained. For example, each new tariff-protected job making steel risks 75 jobs in factories using steel. Trump's erratic, unpredictable tariffs make new investment impossible for 10,000's of manufacturers, killing new jobs. Small businesses, many dependent on significant imported content, can't plan with erratic tariffs and thus can't expand and hire new staff. Rather than reviving manufacturing, Trump lost us 100,000 manufacturing jobs in 2025 alone. In Trump’s first term, 90% of new tariff revenue had to subsidize farmers who’d lost their hard-won export markets to retaliatory tariffs. In 2025, farmers lost over $44 billion in sales, due to retaliation against Trump's tariffs and DOGE/BBB cuts to USAID & SNAP. Trump's mere $12 billion in compensation to cover over $44 billion in 2025 losses means many farmers are going bankrupt. Trump brags about trillions of dollars in new investments, but it's mostly talk, with only a fraction actually ever invested. For example, Trump takes credit for rebuilding the U.S. semi-conductor manufacturing capability, but most of that new investment started from Biden's bi-partisan CHIPS Act, which strongly incentivized reshoring semiconductor manufacturing to the U.S.

Over 50 years, especially since the Reagan/Republican 1981 Trickle-down Tax SCAM, nearly-80-trillion-was redistributed-from-the-bottom-90%-to-the-top-1% where much is sheltered from tax, shifting even more tax burden to struggling working families. In early 2025, Trump neutered Treasury's anti-money laundering rule requiring shell companies to disclose their owners & beneficiaries, making it much harder to detect and prosecute financial crimes and tax evasion (not surprising given that much of the wealth of Trump, his kids and his billionaire buddies involved money laundering). Musk's DOGE fired over 6,000 IRS officers, gutting Biden's earlier efforts to crack down on rampant tax evasion by the nation's wealthiest. Then, Trump's BBB (Big Bad Betrayal) transferred even more wealth to the top and gutted IRS ability to audit & tax the wealthiest, devastating our tax base, which is why the USG loses an estimated $1 trillion/year in tax collections! Trump’s condoning & pardoning rich tax cheats (many of them donors) is extremely corrupt, normalizes tax evasion by the super rich, and forces cuts in essential services that working families rely on. Since 2015, Trump has said he'd release his tax returns when audits were completed, but he NEVER has. He even sued the IRS for $10 billion, because an accounting firm whistleblower released Trump's & Musk's tax returns for 2020/21, showing how these two billionaires literally pay almost ZERO income tax. Ironically, that whistleblower merely released what Trump promised he would release voluntarily since 2015! As Majorie Taylor Green now claims, “Trump/MAGA has abandoned its working-class base to cater to its rich donors.”

Republicans insist that BBB helps average workers, but 70% of BBB’s tax cuts go to the top 20% of earners. No Tax on Social Security sounds great, but it’s really only a $6,000 deduction from taxable income for anyone 65 or older. (Virtually nobody relying on Social Security for most (or all) of their income currently pays any tax on Social Security.) No Tax on Tips sounds HUGE but it's a CON to get votes, only benefitting about 1% of workers, at best. For starters, only 1 in 40 workers even get tips, but almost 40% of them don't make enough money to pay income tax on tips NOW. Historically, most cash tips were underreported and tax NEVER paid. Workers must still pay payroll taxes (more than income tax for most). Importantly, NO tax on tips, on overtime and on Social Security, expires in 2028 (while the massive tax cuts for corporations and the rich are permanent.) Worse, the automatic gratuity on parties of 6 or more is NOT income tax free, and the Trump administration is making it much harder for workers to even claim and secure overtime pay at all.
