Prince William County

Hala Ayala is running to represent the 51st House District of Virginia. She is a former cybersecurity specialist with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and an outspoken advocate for women and families.

Hala has fought for raising the minimum wage, Medicaid expansion and equal pay for equal work as the founder and President of the Prince William County chapter of the National Organization for Women.

Hala believes that residents in Prince William County should spend less time on the roads and more time at home with their families. Hala wants to alleviate the traffic congestion by expanding mass transit options (Metro, VRE and PRTC), and by identifying infrastructure improvements. Limited access to mass transit and long commuting times are obstacles to economic growth.

Rich Anderson is staunchly anti-refugee at a time when our legislators need to show leadership in compassion. Del. Anderson introduced a bill last session that would require charities and those working with refugees to report to local and state politicians exactly when and where refugees choose to resettle. This would target an already at-risk population for intimidation and harassment by their former oppressors.
