Dear Senator,
I am writing to express my support for SB1139 -- Safe Storage for Firearms.

Safe storage practices can help to keep children safe, deter gun theft, and avoid preventable gun-related deaths and injuries.

With over 75% of gun owners favoring the "requirement that gun owners safely store their guns in a gun safe or equip them with a trigger lock"*, it is evident that SB1139 would be supported by the majority of your constituents.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Dear Senator,

As your constituent, I am writing to express my support for Senator Jennifer Boysko’s SB1139 that will require firearms to be stored in a locked container when a minor is present. This bill also requires that all ammunition be stored separately, in a locked container.

As numerous studies have shown:

-Firearms recently became the number one cause of death for children in the United States, surpassing motor vehicle deaths and those caused by other injuries.

-Safe storage practices can help to keep children safe, deter gun theft, and avoid preventable gun-related deaths and injuries.

-Those who store their firearms locked or unloaded, or both, were less likely to commit suicide by firearms

Please help to put an end to preventable death and injury caused by unsecured firearms - vote YES on SB1139.

Sincerely,
Take Action NOW!
