Dear Legislators,
Please vote YES on bills SB1257, SB1268, and HB1938 for greater access to counseling services for students.
The need for psychologists and counselors has increased due to the stresses caused by the pandemic. However, hiring limitations and the saddling with additional staff duties of school mental health professionals have caused a critical shortage of mental health support in our public schools.
These bills will allow more mental health professionals to be hired by our public schools and will also provide mental health staffs to have more time to counsel students instead of performing other staff duties.
Sincerely,
