What We Do
Our programs provide an approachable starting place and network for women leaders considering a future run by providing community, resources, and growth opportunities. We believe that women of all political leanings, ethnicities, and backgrounds should have an equal opportunity to lead in elected office and that our democracy will benefit from the varied perspectives and experiences that women bring to leadership.
What We Envision
We know that when women run for office they win at the same rates as men. Yet women are not encouraged and recruited at the same rate as men. Our Ask a Woman to Run tool provides a way for individuals to tell us about great women leaders they know who should consider a run for office. Once women are ready to take their first step towards public office, our first-of-its-kind She Should Run Incubator offers resources and a community that meets them where they are in their paths to elected leadership. Over 21,000 women have been inspired to run for office through She Should Run since the 2016 election.
Women are underrepresented at all levels in the 500,000+ elected offices across the U.S. That is why She Should Run is committed to getting at least 250,000 women to run for local, state, and federal offices by 2030. And we can’t do it without your support. Join us and let’s get #250Kby2030.
